Norden Roots is a small homegrown shop born and run in Menomonie, Wisconsin by Nicole. My focus is building quality, durable, unique goods that allow you to express yourself and make your home feel like your home. Most products are made from locally sourced hard woods, typically salvaged from urban and rural properties in the area.

My passion is creating great experiences.
By day, I’m a digital user experience designer (also known as product design) making software, apps, and websites easy to use. By nights and weekends, I’m creating physical products that make a home feel like home. There’s actually a lot of crossover between my career and my woodworking!
My woodworking journey began in 2014. I wanted to create custom furniture for my home, and I found it calming and therapeutic to make something tangible with my own hands. I am inspired by the process of learning new things and experimenting with different materials and ways to approach a design. My overall goal is to create high-quality products that last and make people happy.
